　　The DSP group has been actively teaching courses, conducting research, and publishing results since 1968. Much of this activity has taken place in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) department and the Ken Kennedy Institute for Information Technology (K2I).

　　Over the past 20 years, Profs. Baraniuk, Burrus, Johnson, Orchard, and Parks have been elected Fellow of the IEEE for their work in DSP and have received major Signal Processing Society awards. Prof. Nowak has received Young Investigator awards from the NSF, ARO, and ONR.
